Omung Kumar Early Life and Career

Omung Kumar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Omung Kumar wife name is Vanita Omung Kumar. He started his career as a production designer in the year 2002 with the Bollywood movie “Dil Hai Tumhara,” directed by Kundan Shah. Then he has also worked in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movies like Black and Saawariya. Till 2008, he worked as a
Art Director under various directors.

In the year 2014, Omung Kumar made his directorial debut with the biographical movie “Mary Kom,” features Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. It is one of the blockbuster movies of the year. For that movie, Omung Kumar has received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Apart from that, he has won several awards and nominations. Following the success of that movie, he directed his second movie “Sarbjit,” features Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda. He is now directing the biopic of PM Narendra Modi featuring Vivek Oberoi.
