Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s movie franchise is fondly called Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). In 2019, Kaithi, the first movie of this universe was released, starring Karthi in the lead role. The second film Vikram stars a stellar cast of Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi, released in theaters on 3 June 2023. The cameo appearance of actor Suriya in the flick made the franchise a huge success.

The LCU follows the story of gangsters and law enforcement officers in South India battling each other. Their battle gave a clear path to a drug kingpin Rolex who runs the Scorpian cartel to take over the criminal empire.

The threequel of the LCU is Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, was released in theaters today (October 19, 2023).

In August 2023, during an interview, Suriya confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj is planning a spin-off movie for the Rolex character. The news made the fans and movie lovers go crazy. He also mentioned that it’ll go on the floor once Lokesh completes his current projects like Thalaivar171 and Kaithi 2.
