C. R. Saraswathi is an Indian politician and former film actress from Tamil Nadu. She began her career as an actress and entered politics as Pallavaram candidate from All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (AIADMK) Party. Now, C. R. C. R. Saraswathi was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. She started her career as a film actress in 1995. In 1999, she joined the AIADMK party and her familiar face helped her role as a star campaigner in the state. She was very was interested in social service and that led her to enter politics. Saraswathi is also clearly in awe of her leader Jayalalithaa. In 2014, She was appointed a spokesperson for the AIADMK party.

Initially, Saraswathi was to contest the Thyagaraya Nagar seat in Chennai, an upper-middle-class urban locality. The AIADMK’s local unit protested forceful at her candidature and Jayalalithaa shifted Saraswathi to Pallavaram seat instead, giving T Nagar to the party’s district secretary Sathyanarayana. Now, she is the member of Edappadi Palanisamy and O.Paneerselvam faction.
