The event was graced by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR.

Ponniyin Selvan is a famous Tamil literary novel penned by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It is one of Mani Ratnam’s dream projects that is made with a stellar cast and crew. The film features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Trisha in lead roles.

Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sarathkumar, and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast.

The film’s music was composed by AR Rahman. The film was bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be released on 28th April 2023 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
