Aamani was born on 16 November 1973 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. She was born into a Telugu family settled in Bangalore. She has a brother. She had quit education after tenth grade to pursue her career in acting. She started her acting career by doing small roles in films like Aadadhi. She then paired as the lead actress opposite top actors like Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna, Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Balakrishna, Krishna, and Jagapathi Babu. Her performances were lauded by critics and she won Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu for the film Subha Lagnam. She also won Nandi Award as Best Actress for the films like Subha Sankalpam & Mr. Pellam. She is married to a Chennai businessman Hazrath. The couple blessed with two children.
