6-year-old girl Raped in School Toilet, Sweeper Jailed in South Delhi

A 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the 22-year-old housekeeping staff in a washroom of a private school in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. The incident happened yesterday, and a sweeper has been napped after his medical examination by the police.

A case was registered and the accused arrested under Section 376 of the IPC and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. During the school time, the minor girl had gone to the washroom and asked help, but instead of a woman staff, a male sweeper came and allegedly sexually attacked her, the officials said.

Private school in Malviya Nagar, Delhi

After she reached home, she explained her ordeal to her parents who informed the school and subsequently, the police were informed. The sweeper was arrested at his resident in Dakshinpuri in New Delhi.

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act

Following the Shahdara rape incident, Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik had told all district Deputy Commissioners of Police to ensure that schools have sufficient security measures in that areas.
