Rahul Chahar was born and brought up in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. He was born on 4th August 1999. He started playing cricket at a very young age. He is a first-class cricketer who plays for Rajasthan team. Apart from Rajasthan team, He also plays for Indian national Under 19 and Under 23 Team. Rahul also plays for India A team. Rahul Chahar made his first-class debut in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 5 November 2016.

Rahul made his List A debut through the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 25, 2017. In February 2017, Rahul Chahar was bought by Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) for the 2017 IPL. He was bought for 10 lakhs. He made his IPL debut on 8 April 2017. In the 2018 IPL Auction, Mumbai Indians team purchased Rahul Chahar for the 2018 IPL series.
