Preetika Rao was born on 29 May 1988 in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Preetika Rao family is now residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father name is Deepak Rao, running an advertising agency in Mumbai and her mother name will be updated soon. She has a sister named Amrita Rao, an award-winning Bollywood actress. She completed her schooling in Convent Girls High School, Prabhadevi, Mumbai and finished her graduation in broadcast journalism at Sophia College for Women, Mumbai & acting course at New York Film Academy, Burbank, California.

Preetika Rao started her career as a model with a TV advertisement for Cadbury Dairy Milk along with Amitabh Bachchan. Later, she successfully acted in more than forty plus tv commercials and print campaigns. She also worked as a film journalist for Bangalore Mirror, Deccan Chronicle and the Asian Age. Preetika Rao made her acting debut with the Tamil movie “Chikku Bukku,” along with Arya and Shriya Saran in 2013. Then in 2014, she starred in the TV serial “Beintehaa,” which was telecasted on Colors TV. Then in the following years, she acted in various movies and TV shows.
