Mathimaran is a multi-genre Tamil movie directed by Mantra Veerpandian, who was the assistant of director Bala. Venkat Senguttuvan and Ivana play the lead roles. Karthik Raja composed the background scores and songs. Lenin Babu bankrolled the film under the banner of GS Cinema International. Saregama acquired the music rights of the movie.

The film marks the directional debut of Mantra Veerpandian and the debut lead role for Venkat Senguttuvan. The movie’s trailer premiered on 21 December 2023 on YouTube and received a positive response from fans & critics. Initially, the film was titled Complex, but later, it was changed to Mathimaaran to make the title similar to the plot. It is a sentimental thriller movie that showcases the pain of body shaming.

Storyline

The movie revolves around a short man who has faced discrimination in his whole life. However, his sister is the only one who supports him in his critical situations. After a period, he falls in love with a girl, which leads him to a murder case. The survival of the man from the criminal offense and the rest of his life is the plot of the movie.

Release Date

The release date of the Mathimaran movie has been postponed many times, and now it is confirmed to be released in theaters on 29 December 2023.
