Lakshya Sen is an Indian badminton player from Uttarakhand, India. In 2016, he became the youngest player to make it to the final of the Senior National Championships. He then competed in the senior international level and won the men’s singles title at the 2016 India International Series tournament in the junior category. In 2017, he became the number one junior singles player in BWF World Junior ranking. Lakshaya Sen grabbed the 2018 Asian Junior Championships title defeating the World No. 1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the final. Lakshaya Sen currently holds the rank 76 (July 2018) in Men’s single World Rankings. His highest ranking is 69 (June 2018). Lakshya Sen Wiki
He was born on 16 August 2001 in Almora, Uttarakhand, India, to a badminton family. His grandfather is a badminton player. Lakshaya Sen’s father, D K Sen is also a badminton player and coach in Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bangalore, India. His mother is a school teacher and his brother Chirag Sen also an international badminton player. Sen has been into badminton since he was 8. Right from the beginning, Lakshaya Sen exposed great talent in the game. He was trained at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy. Lakshaya Sen became the first Indian player in 53 years to have won the Asian junior championships title and etched his name in the elite category – the past winners include Olympic champions Taufik Hidayat (1997), Lin Dan (2000) and Chen Long (2007). Lakshya Sen’s aim is to represent India at the 2020 Olympics and wants to win an Olympic medal for India.
