Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 7000 crore for this Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme in the budget of 2023-2024. Tamil Nadu Government is taking major steps towards the Development of Tamil Nadu state and Implementing various State Government welfare schemes for the Livelihood of Women, Children, and Farmers. Chief Minister MK Stalin launched a scheme called “Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme“. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the women of Tamilnadu. The amount is announced as 1000 per month, and online and offline registration facility is available for the same.

As per the reports, 1 crore 6 lakh 50 thousand women are eligible to receive Rs. 1000 per month under this scheme. The amount will be given from the 15th of this month.

Eligibility Criteria

• Beneficiary Age must be 21 years or more.
• Beneficiaries Must be Permanent Residents of Tamil Nadu. 
• Family income must be less than 2.5 Lakh Rupees.
• Women who are currently serving in State and Central Government will not be covered under this Scheme. 

Conditions

• The amount will be transferred to the Women Heads of Household only. 
• Family Land holding must not exceed 5 acres of wetland and 10 acres of dry land.
• Annual Household Electricity Consumption Should not Exceed 3600 units.
