Chaitra Kotoor is a writer turned actress who works in the Kannada film industry. Her debut film as an actress and lyricist was Soojidaara which was released in 2018. The film was directed by Mounesh Badiger. She does scriptwriting work for television serials and ad films. She is also a good director. Chaithra came into the spotlight when she became a housemate of Sudeep hosting Bigg Boss Kannada season 7.

On 8th April 2021, she was in news for attempting suicide by consuming phenyl at her home in Kolar, Karnataka. She was rushed to the hospital on the same day. She is now said to be in stable health.
