Phoenix is an action-based sports drama starring Surya Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. Directed by Anl Arasu, the film comes under the banner of AK Braveman Pictures. Sam CS composed the background score and music for this film. It is the debut lead role of Surya, who is the son of Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi. Besides, the famous stunt director Anl Arasu transformed into a director & producer for the Phoenix movie. Also, the director stated that Surya has trained stunts for 6-months for this action film.

Surya was already seen in Sindhubaadh film alongside his father Vijay Sethupathi. During Jawan shoot, Anl Arasu met Surya and cast him for the story.
