Karthikeyan Murali is an Indian Chess player and grandmaster. In 2015, FIDE awarded him with the title of Grandmaster. He also won the national championship twice. He got the limelight when he won the World Youth Chess Championships under 12 sections. Karthikeyan also won the World Under 16 championship in AI Ain.
In October 2023, Karthikeyan beat Magnus Carlsen in a classical chess match at the Qatar Masters. He is the third Indian to defeat the world’s number one chess player.
