Nivedhitha is an Indian movie actress, who works in the Kannada film industry. She was formerly known and credited as Smitha. She made her acting debut with the Sandalwood movie “Kallarali Hoovagi,” directed by T. S. Nagabharana in the year 2006. Her performance in the “Avva,” fetched her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in the year 2008.

Nivedhitha Early Life and Career

Nivedhitha was born in Karnataka, India. Nivedhitha family is now residing in Karnataka, India. Her father name is Jagadish, a deputy commissioner of commercial taxes and her mother name is Lakshmi. She completed her schooling in Marimallappa High School & PUC at the Marimallappa Pre-University College and finished her graduation in CMRIT College, Bangalore. After her graduation, she joined in Infosys and worked for one year. Then she quit her job to pursue her career in acting. So she joined in the Anupam Kher’s acting school, Actor Prepares and took a crash course.

Nivedhitha first signed for a role in the movie “Akasha Gange,” directed by Dinesh Baboo, but the movie was delayed. She signed for several movies like Kallarali Hoovagi, Sixer, Mathad Mathadu Mallige and Avva, which released before the Akasha Gange movie. In those movies, director Kavita Lankesh’s movie “Avva,” remains her most notable one. In that movie, she acted with Duniya Vijay. Her performance in that movie earned her the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the year 2010, she made her debut Tamil movie titled “Porkkalam,” directed by Bandi Saroj Kumar. In the same year, she acted in her second Tamil movie titled “Kathai,” directed by Abhishek. In the year 2012, she starred in the movie “Parie,” which was based on the award-winning Kannada novel Bharadwaj. In the following years, she acted in the movies like Kiladi Kitty, Gandhi Smiles, Yaare Koogadali, Shuddhi and more. In 2018, she worked in the Tamil movie “Chithiram Pesudhadi 2.”
