Alok Dixit is an Indian Journalist turned social activist from Kanpur. In 2012, he started a social moment against Internet censorship and acid attacks called Save Your Voice. Arpit Gupta (Socialist), Aseem Trivedi (Cartoonist), and Chirag Joshi are the co founders of Save Your Voice. As a Journalist he worked in TV9 News channel and Inext Live. Alok and Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack victim and activist, lived together without marrying for a few years and the couple parted their ways in 2015.

In order to support their protest, a hacker hacked the central government’s BSNL website and reset it’s home page displaying the text “Hacked by Anonymous India. Support Aseem trivedi (cartoonist) and Alok Dixit on the hunger strike. Remove IT Act 66 A databases of all 250 bsnl site has been Hacked by Anonymous India (sic)“.
