15 Dead as High-Intensity Storm Hits Parts of Rajasthan
Rajasthan: A high-intensity storm followed by heavy thundershowers hit several parts of Rajasthan on Wednesday night, leaving nearly 15 people dead. Some of the houses were collapsed, and electricity poles & trees were uprooted as the severe dust storm swept the Matsya region. Hemant Kumar Gera, Cheif secretary of Disaster Management and Relief, said, ” Till 3 am, fifteen people died due to the high-intensity storm, including eight in Bharatpur, three each in Dholpur and Alwar and one in Jhunjhunu. The toll is likely to rise.” Further, he said that the relief and rescue teams were pressed and the detailed report about the disaster will be released soon.
Cheif Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje expressed her grief over the calamity and said, “the authorities in the districts have been informed to ensure all the possible help to the victims.”
Have directed Ministers and concerned officials to affected areas to begin relief work immediately and restore utilities. An unfortunate incident, we have been working closely with local authorities to mitigate the situation.

Due to this disaster, Congress National General Secretary Ashok Gehlot canceled his birthday celebrations at his official residence in Jaipur, and he said “We are extremely grieved at the loss of lives in the state and stand with the victims in this hour of tragedy, I canceled all the celebrations at my residence today. Organizers can continue blood donation camps and Janhit programs.”
