Soumya Vishwanathan Murder Case
In 2009, Delhi police suspected Ravi Kapoor and Amit Shukla in connection with the murder case of Jigisha Ghosh. During the investigation, they shockingly confessed to the murder of Soumya and mentioned it as a ‘thrilling activity’.
In June 2010, Delhi police filed a charge sheet against Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla, Baljit Malik, and Ajay Sethi in the murder case. The trial for Soumya’s murder case began on 16 November 2010 at Saket Court.
When the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) was invoked against the accused, the three convicts, Malik, Kapoor, and Shukla, were found guilty in the case of Jigisha Ghosh.
After fifteen years, the Delhi court convicted Kapoor, Shukla, Ajay Kumar, and Malik under sections 302 and 34 for murder and robbery. Ajay Sethi has been convicted under Section 411 of the Indian Penal Code for retaining the vehicle.
