Manikarnika Movie Review: No Comments, Simply Superb
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a biographical movie directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (Krish). Jointly produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain, Manikarnika Bollywood movie is based on the life story of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi.
K. V. Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali fame has written the script for this movie. “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” movie features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role along with Jisshu Sengupta, Richard Keep, Atul Kulkarni and Suresh Oberoi in the supporting roles.
The story revolves around Manikarnika (Kangana Ranaut) was born in a Brahmin family but raised as a Kshatriya (warrior). She was later christened Laxmibai by her husband, Maharaj Gangadhar Rao (Jisshu Sengupta) of Jhansi.
Indian musical trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy‘s composition has worked well in the whole film and the background score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara were glorious in war scenes.
The period is superbly recreated by art directors and has been shot amazingly by cinematographers Gnana Shekar VS and Kiran Deohans.
