Kaduvetti Guru is a local politician and a former member of the legislative assembly (Jayankondam & Andimadam constituency). He worked as an executive committee member and Secretary of the Trichy branch in the Pattali Makkal Katchi party. Guru is the leader of Vanniyar Sangam, it is a cast-based organization. He is the relative of two popular PMK party politicians Anbumani and Ramadoss He is the former branch secretary of the DMK party. He was resigned from the party due to some opinion differences with DMK authorities.

Police Cases: More than 15 police cases were registered against him including Gundas act.
Death Cause: In May 2018, he was suffered severe by lung infection but he can not survived by doctors treatment. There was a big memorial constructed for him in Kaduvetti village.
