Sriram Venkataraman is a popular young IAS officer in Kerala. On 23 July 2016, his sub-collector posting was transferred from Thiruvalla to Devikulam district but his posting didn’t last for a year. He displayed his outstanding effort to knock out land mafia in Idukki. For that reason, he lost his sub-collector post. Sriram Venkataraman is also a well-trained doctor. Furthermore, he is a former managing director of KASE – Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence located in Trivandrum.

The 33 age officer lost his support among people due to an accident on the second of August 2019. The car in which he was travelling hit a bike rider on museum road while he was driving. As per the eye witness, Sriram was drunk at that time but was not at the driver’s seat. Bike rider was identified as KM Basheer (age 35) who served as a reporter in Malayalam Daily. KM Basheer died on the spot of accident and Sriram also got an injury and admitted in the hospital. Sriram was remanded along with the suspension. A model named Wafa Firoz also travelled with Sriram during that incident. While investigating her, she said that Sriram was driving the car and refused her advice to drive slowly. Wafa was also arrested and later released on bail.
