PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan is an Indian politician serving as the current Finance minister in Tamil Nadu. He won the Madurai central constituency by representing DMK party and was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in 2016 and 2021. Thiagarajan comes from a political background family. His father PTR Palanivel Rajan and his grandfather PT Rajan are well-known politicians. Before entering into politics, PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan worked in several MNCs like Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc, and Standard Chartered Bank as Managing Director. His recent debate against Modi Freebies went viral on the internet.
