EVKS Elangovan is an Indian politician who serves as an MLA of Erode East Assembly Constituency. He is the grandson of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy‘s brother Krishnasamy. EVKS Elangovan is a strong supporter of the Congress party. He was appointed as president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee in October 2014.

- EVKS Elangovan’s father, Sampath, is an advocate of the Dravidian Movement. He is the first one from the Periyar family who split from DMK and joined the India National Congress party.
- In the 2009 Lok Sabha election, he lost to MDMK Ganeshamurthi by over 49,000 votes.
- In the 2023 by-election (due to the death of his son Thirumagan Evera), he was elected to the Member of Legislative Assembly from the Sathyamangalam Assembly Constituency.
- He was hospitalized in Chennai on Wednesday (15 March) due to some breathing difficulty and heart pain.
