Yashpal Sharma is an Indian actor and theatre artist, who works predominantly in Bollywood film industry. He also acted in few Telugu films. He is best known for his role as Randhir Singh in 2003 Hindi movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. His notable movies are Lagaan (2001), Gangaajal (2003), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Apaharan (2005), Singh is Kinng (2008), Aarakshan (2011) and Rowdy Rathore (2012). He is also a stage actor and appears in live plays. He formerly starred in Zee’s Neeli Chhatri Waale. The Haryanvi film Pagdi the honor awarded with “62nd National Film Awards”. Yashpal Sharma Details

Yashpal Sharma was born on 1 January 1965 in Hisar, Haryana, India. He belongs to a middle-class family. His father, Premchand Sharma served for a Haryana Government in the Public Works Department (PWD) – Irrigation Branch. Yashpal Sharma used to live in ‘Canal Colony’ on Rajgarh Road in Hisar City with his family. His brother Ghansham Sharma recognized his talent and always supported him for his acting pursuits. Since childhood, Yashpal was very interested in acting and used to participate in Ramlila during Dasara (Navaratri) festivals. He was graduated from the National School of Drama, Mandi House, New Delhi in 1994. Yashpal used to play the lead role in his theatre play franchise (Koi Baat Chale) with writer and director Shri Ramji Bali. After his graduation, he joined the National School of Drama Repertory Company in Delhi and worked for about two years. He then moved Mumbai and made his breakthrough in Govind Nihlani’s film, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), in which he acted alongside Jaya Bachchan and Nandita Das. He also started appearing in commercial films, like Shool and Arjun Pandit.
