Women Doctor Allegedly Commits Suicide

On Thursday morning, the burned body of a 51-year-old lady doctor was found in the toilet of her house at Thalaiyuthu in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu. According to reports, a women doctor named M Usharani committed suicide by burning herself with ethyl alcohol on Wednesday midnight in her house.

She was running a nursing home in Shankar Nagar of Thalaiyuthu. Usharani was reportedly living in her father’s house M Rathinam (80) following a dispute with her husband, Murali and has a son, an engineering student, and a daughter, a +2 student, says report.

After a preliminary inquiry, police came to know that she had been depressed over her family circumstances and she doused herself around 1 am with some inflammable liquid and set herself on fire in the toilet of her house.

The incident came to light when her father went in search of her. He opened the door of the toilet with the help of someone and found his daughter’s burned body. The Thalaiyuthu police recovered the body and sent it to the Tirunelveli Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The police registered a case and were investigating.
