Vangmayi Parakala is the daughter of present Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She is a multimedia journalist and reporter for a national newspaper, where she writes about art, media, social policy, and literary culture. She also works with several news outlets in India as well as overseas. Vangamayi mentored under the two-time Pulitzer winner Paul Salopek and visual journalist Arati Kumar Rao.
