Dr Uzma Ahmed is a successful survivor of forced marriage. She had a relationship with a Pakistani man Tahir Ali while she was on Malaysia to pursue her studies. In fact, Uzma and Tahir are married persons but still, they were in a relationship. Uzma is a mother of two children who were born to her first husband Naushad.

When she was in a relationship with Tahir, she went to meet him in his village Burhan which is located in Punjab district in Pakistan. When Uzma decided to break up her relationship with Tahir, he did not accept it and forced her to marry and stay with him in Pakistan. Uzma refused to marry him and wish to return to India but Tahir house arrested her. Uzma called the Indian ministry of external affairs to bring her back to India. In 2017, she successfully returned to India by the support of Pakistan court and former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.
