Tsunami Watch for Hawaii Has Been Cancelled (2020): A 7.8-magnitude earthquake near the Kuril Islands
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Watch for the state of Hawaii. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at a depth of about 35 miles below the surface of the ocean. The earthquake was centered east of the Kuril Islands with a large 7.8 magnitude.

The nation has been put on high alert in some of the coastal areas including Cordova, Southeast Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak Island, the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands.
Authorities also revealed the time of the waves that determined as the arrival of tsunami’s first wave would be about 10:40 PM on Wednesday, March 25.
Later, the watch has been cancelled after information was received that there is no possible recurrence of the tsunami.
