Toronto Van Attack: 10 Dead & 15 Injured after Vehicle Ploughs into Crowd
Toronto Van Attack: At least ten people were killed, and 15 were injured when the van ploughed into the crowd of pedestrians on a sidewalk in Toronto on Monday Afternoon. Regarding the accident, Toronto Mayor John Tory said,
“I hope that we will, as a city, remind ourselves of the fact that we are admired around the world for being inclusive and for being accepting and understanding and considerate, and that we are united in standing in solidarity, especially with those who have fallen victim to this terrible tragedy today.”
On Monday evening, Toronto Police Service Chief Mark Saunders said nearly ten people were killed when the vehicle ploughed into the sidewalk. Further, he added 15 people were injured.
Ten people were taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where two victims were pronounced dead upon arrival. 5 People remain in critical condition, two people remain in serious condition, and one is in fair condition.

The driver who drove the van is identified as Alek Minassian, and he was taken into the custody by the Toronto Police.
The van involved in multiple pedestrians stuck in the Yonge and Finch area of Toronto has been located and the driver arrested. ^sm

Toronto Police Cheif, Saunders said “the attack was deliberate”, and authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the accident.
