Tik Tok Banned: Tamil Nadu Govt to approach Centre to ban the Video App

TikTok is one of the popular mobile apps mostly used by youth to create and share short videos. In 2018, it became the most downloaded apps on both Android and Apple devices. There are a large number of Indians who use this chinese video app, and a substantial number from Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, State Information Technology Minister M Manikandan said in the Assembly that TN government will seek the help of the Centre to ban the mobile app TikTok. He compared Tik Tok to Blue Whale challenge.

Earlier, Nagapattinam MLA Thamimun Ansari requested government to ban the app by raising the issue that TikTok creates law and order problems and obscene activities over youths.
