Tamil Nadu Reopening Of Liquor Shops (TASMAC): Smile on Booze Lovers Face

Tamil Nadu Coronavirus Lockdown: According to official sources, TASMAC shops in Tamil Nadu will be reopened from May 7 in non-containment areas. Shops to open only from 10 AM to 5 PM and will strictly adhere to central government rules and regulations during the lockdown period.

As per Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (Tasmac) instruction, the shop and bars have been closed on March 27, 2020, due to Coronavirus pandemic. After a month, the government announces to reopens the bars and this made booze lovers to smile.

Earlier, the MHA has granted permission to reopen liquor shops only in Green and Orange zones. Now, the centre has announced to open the shops which is located outside hotspots or containment areas even in the Red zones.

As of May 4, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu reached 3,550, according to State Health Department.
