Swarnamalya is an Indian actress and TV anchor who works predominantly in Tamil film and television industry. She is also a trained Bharathanatyam dancer. She holds a record for hosting a TV talk show on SUN TV called “Ilamai Pudumai” for more than a decade. She is a famous classical dancer. She received the award ‘Yuvakala Bharat’ at the age of 17. Swarnamalya Details

Swarnamalya Ganesh was born on 22 April 1981 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She completed Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from MOP Vaishnav College and did Diploma in Acting for Camera from San Jose University, California. She also has Masters in Bharathanatyam and PhD in Dance History from Madras University. Initialy, she was trained under Smt. K. J . Sarasa for 10 years, and later, she started learning with Bhagavatulu Sri. B. Seetharama Sharma of Kalakshetra.

Later, she made her acting debut through Maniratnam’s Alaipayuthey, alongside Shalini. She then played many supporting roles in films like Mozhi and Engal Anna. She began as a television anchor in Sun TV’s show Illamai Pudumai and also hosted Vijay TV’s Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru Season 2. She then appeared in serials starting with Anbulla Sneghithi alongside Anu Hassan. Her notable serials are Bharathiraja’s Thekkathu Ponnu, Jaya TV’s Vandhaale Maharasi, Revathi’s Yaathumaagi Nindraal and also played a small role in Sun TV’s Thangam. She married to Arjun Rajaraman in 2002 and divorced in 2004.
