Sonu Nigam is an Indian musician, singer, composer, producer, recordist, programmer, live performer and actor. He has sung songs in almost all Indian Languages and Non-Indian Languages as well. Sonu Nigam Profile and Career

Sonu Nigam was born on 30 July 1973 to Agam Kumar and Shobha Nigam in Faridabad town of Haryana. He has two sisters, Meenal and Nikita. He completed his schooling from J. D. Tytler School in Delhi and pursued his graduation from Delhi University. In 1990, he moved to Mumbai aspiring to be a playback singer in the film industry. Sonu Nigam married Madhurima Banerjee on February 15, 2002. The couple has a son, Neevan, born on July 27, 2007.

Sonu’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam used to perform in stage shows. Sonu, at the age of four, used to accompany his father to his shows and his interest in music grew from there. He sang the superhit song of Mohammed Rafi “Kya Hua Tera Wada” of the movie “Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi”. And that was the beginning of his great musical journey. In 1996, he made his breakthrough as a playback singer in Gulshan Kumar’s film Aaja Meri Jaan followed by “Accha Sila Diya Tune” for Bewafa Sanam. His notable popular songs such as “Sandese Aate Hai” from Border, “Yeh Dil, Deewana” in Pardes, “Kal Ho Naa Ho” in Kal Ho Naa Ho, ”Suraj Hua Maddham” in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, ”Tanhayee” in Dil Chahta Hai and much more. He did playback singing for many Hindi movies and has sung in other regional languages like Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, and Kannada.
