Smita is an Indian playback singer, pop singer and actress, who predominantly works in Telugu film industry. She not only works for Telugu films she used to sing songs for  Bollywood, Tamil and Kannada cinema industry. Singer Smita Details

Singer Smita was born on 4 September 1980 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Smita family is now residing in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Her father name is Prabhu Prasad and her mother name is Jogu Prasad. Her schooling and graduation details will be updated soon. Smita’s singing potential was identified in the talent show Padutha Theeyaga which gets aired on the Telugu TV channel ETV and the show was anchored by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam in the year 1997. After this show, she tried for playback opportunities and she got an opportunity to sing some playback songs. By seeing her talent and style of her singing her parents advised her to choose her career in Pop and the result of her decision is Hai Rabba.

In the year 2000, she started her career as a pop artist with her first album Hai Rabba. Then by following this album, she produced more albums in both Tamil and Telugu. In that, some of her club mix songs have crossed over a million copies in that especially Masaka Masaka. In the seven years duration, she has sung nearly seventy-five playback songs in Telugu, with that, she worked with most of the leading music composers in the south. In the year 2005, her song Evaraina Chusuntara for the movie Anukokunda oka roju has won her the Filmfare Award as a Best playback singer in Telugu films and the song was composed by M.M.Keeravani. In Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, she created a market in Pop music and she kept it alive for almost a decade now.

She recently launched an album titled SMITA, which has nine tracks and the music of the album was composed by the hit duo – Sajid Wajid and Bosco-Caesar is the choreographer of this video. The song was released in both Hindi and Tamil by the leading music company Sony BMG. Later she has also appeared in some movies like Malliswari (2004) and Aata (2007) and in Dying To Be Me (2015) which is a short film. Smita husband name is Shashank. She started her new business I Candy Entertainments Pvt Ltd, which is a production house and in this company she producing some popular shows like ‘Tata Indicom-Dance With Me’ for Maa TV. Smita Singer has released her new album titled Ishan in the path of the divine on 29th February. As she is an Isha volunteer she made this album and offered to Sadhguru and Isha Foundation.
