Srinivas is an Indian Playback Singer who has sung more than 2000 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi film industries. Apart from singing, He has also worked as a Music composer for films and separate albums as well. Srinivas began his playback singing by singing the song “Sorgam Enbathu Namakku” in the movie “Nammavar” composed by Mahesh. Singer Srinivas Details

Srinivas was born at Ambasamudiram, Tamil Nadu, India on 7th November 1959. His family moved to Thiruvananthapuram where he was raised. He learned Carnatic music from his aunt Padma Narayanan. After his schoolings, He moved to Bombay to pursue his graduation in the fields of B.Tech Chemical Engineering at the Bombay University, Bombay (Presently Mumbai). After his graduation, He worked as a marketing professional for ten years. He then quit his job to pursue his career as a singer.

Initially, He approached Ilayaraja in the year 1988 but things didn’t go well as he had issues in his throat. In the year 1992, he joined A.R.Rahman where his dream started to come true. In the year 1994, Srinivas began giving voice to advertisements and sang for devotional albums as well. His first song as a playback singer was “Sorgam Enbathu Namakku” which was a sensation at the time of its release.

Then he began singing for all the music directors. He gained recognition by the song “Mana Madurai” from Minsara Kanna and “En Uriye” from the Uyire. Since his debut, He has sung more than 2000 songs in all the major languages. Srinivas is married and has two daughters Sharanaya and Sunanda. His elder daughter Sharanya Srinivas is also a singer.
