Humanity: Sikh Police Officer Saves Muslim Man from Lynching by Hindus

The video of a Sikh police officer saving a Muslim man from a mob lynching in Uttarakhand goes viral on social media. On Tuesday, sub-inspector Gagandeep Singh, Uttrakhand Police, had responded to alerts about trouble in an area where a Muslim boy was meeting a Hindu girl near a crowded temple in Girija village in Nainital.
According to a report, the mob comprised members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had surrounded them and began hurting the boy. Officer Gagandeep is seen confronting the violent mob, who demanded the youth be handed over to them.

According to Lallantop report, a couple decided to meet at the Girija temple on May 22, 2018, but it turned out to be disastrous for them after a mob realised that both of them belonged to different religions.
The incident was recorded on video, and it goes viral on social media. In the video, it was seen that the people over there started harassing the Muslim man and slapped him. But, before anything serious could happen, SI Gagandeep Singh hugged the Muslim man tightly to save him from being attacked.

The mob was heard asking for the ID of the Muslim man during the video as well. The mob was seen criticising Gagandeep Singh for saving the man. The crowd later shouted slogans against the police.
