Sheetal Mallar is an Indian fashion icon and a contemporary photographer from Mumbai who dominated the whole decade of the 1990s. In 1994 she won the title “Femina Look of the Year” and the “Elite Look of the Year“. She won these titles overcoming supermodels like Madhu Spare. She had been a model and has endorsed several high-end brands like Armani, Fendi and more. Sheetal Mallar was at peak of her modeling during the 1990s and early 2000s. Sheetal Mallar was chosen as the face of Maybelline cosmetics for three years in 1999. She has been a photographer at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week where she shot a series of backstage photographs. She signed her debut movie with John Abraham starrer film Madras Café but unfortunately, Sheetal Mallar was replaced by Rashi Khanna later.

Sheetal Mallar was born on 23 April 1974 at Mumbai. She did her schooling in Canossa Convent and pursued her B.Com at Sydenham College, Mumbai, but Sheet discontinued her degree in her third year to pursue full-time modeling. Her parents hail from Padubidri, Mangalore, and her father is a lawyer. Sheetal Mallar’s first shoot was with Danabhai Jewellers by leading photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha and she was only 16 by then. She got into the finals of Elite Supermodel Contest held in 1994 and was among the 12 finalists. Sheetal Mallar married the Italian tennis player Mose Navarra and after three years the couple mutually got divorced.
