She did her acting debut as a child artist in the Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala serial and played the role of Kavya. She has married her longtime friend Sajin TP. She rose to prominence for her role as Gadha in the Sundari serial. Shafna won the Kerala State Television Award in the category of Best Actress for the Sahayathrika serial.
