Shabana Azmi Wiki
Shabana Azmi was born on 18 September 1950. She was born at Hyderabad. Her father Kaifi Azmi is a poet and her mother Shaukat Azmi is a stage actress. She did her schoolings at Queen Mary School, Mumbai, India. After her schoolings, She moved to St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India to pursue her graduation in the field of Psychology. After he graduation, She joined Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
Shabana Azmi graduated from the FTII in the year 1973 and immediately signed the Khwaja Ahmad Abbas’ Faasla movie. But her first released movie was Ankur (1974) for which she won National Film Award for Best Actress. After this, She started acting in more movies. She had many movies getting released every year starting from 1974. She dominated the film industry with more number of films and awards. She won three consecutive National awards for her movies from 1983 to 1985.
Shabana Azmi is married to Javed Akhtar. Javed Akhtar is a lyricist, poet and a scriptwriter. The couple got married on 9 December 1984. It was Akhtar’s second marriage. Shabana’s parents initially opposed their marriage as it was Javed’s second marriage.
