Salman Khan Gets 5-Year Jail Term | 1998 Blackbuck Verdict
On Thursday Afternoon, Jodhpur Court sentenced Salman Khan to 5-year Jail Term in the 1998 Blackbuck Killing Case. He has also been fined a penalty of Rs 10, 000 and he is being taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail, Rajasthan. Salman Khan had four cases against him related to the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching incident. His co-stars in “Hum Saath Saath Hain” Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre have been acquitted in the case. The fifth person, Dushyant Singh, a local businessman from the area has also been acquitted. While pronouncing the verdict in this case, Dev Kumar Khatri, Chief Judicial Magistrate called the actor a “habitual offender.” Judge Khatri ruled that actor has been convicted and the other five members have been given the benefit of the doubt.
Salman Khan, Host of Hindi Reality Show Bigg Boss, was found guilty of shooting dead two rare antelopes in forests near Jodhpur. He was found guilty while shooting a movie and his co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were also with him. The other actors have been cleared because of lack of evidence.
The Police Officer stated that Salman Khan would be taken straight from the court to Jodhpur Central Jail and all the arrangements have been made. He further added that “Salman Khan, 52-year-old actor will be prisoned in Barrack no.2, where Asaram Bapu has been poisoned.” Heavy security has been deployed as another inmate in the Jail, gangster Lawerence Bishnoi has allegedly threatened him. The actor’s bail plea hearing is scheduled for Tomorrow (Friday) Morning in Rajasthan High Court.
