Sachin Pilot is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress. He is the son of late Congress leader, Rajesh Pilot. He represented Ajmer constituency of Rajasthan as an MP in the 15th Lok Sabha from the Congress. He was also the Minister of Corporate Affairs and currently the president of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC). He was the youngest Member of Parliament in the country. Sachin Pilot Profile
Sachin Pilot was born on 7 September 1977 in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh in a Gurjar family. His father, Rajesh Pilot is a Congress (I) leader and was a Union minister of India. His mother is Rama Pilot. In 2004, he got married to Saraa Abdullah, the daughter of Farooq Abdullah. Together they have two sons, Aaran and Vehan. Currently, Sachin Pilot and Sara Pilot live in Ghaziabad. Sachin Pilot did his schooling from Air Force Bal Bharati School, New Delhi, India and graduate in B.A. from the St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He holds double MBA degree, one from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and the other from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. After completing graduation, he has served the Delhi Bureau of British Broadcasting Corporation, and the American multinational corporation General Motors for two years.
Sachin Pilot Political Career
He is the son of a senior Congress (I) leader Rajesh Pilot. He was a member of the Lok Sabha’s Standing Committee on Home Affairs and also a member of the Consultative Committee on Civil Aviation. In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, he defeated Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kiran Maheshwari by a margin of 76,000 votes and won the seat of Ajmer. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he was again nominated from the Ajmer constituency. He was a sitting MP from Ajmer, was defeated by a margin of 1,71,983 votes by Bharatiya Janata Party’s sitting MLA Sanwarlal Jat.
Now, Sachin Pilot is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) representing the constituency of Ajmer, Rajasthan. Presently he is Minister of Corporate Affairs. He is also popularly known as Lieutenant Pilot.
