Rishabh Pant Earns maiden Call-up To Indian Test Team
On Wednesday, Young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was named in the 18-member Indian Squad for the first three test matches against England. He has been named as the specialist wicketkeeper-batsman alongside Dinesh Karthik, who played the team’s last test match against Afghanistan in June.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who was dropped from the Afghanistan game after failing the Yo-Yo test has made his way back into the test team. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah who picked up a thumb injury in the first T20 match against Ireland will be available for selection from second test match onwards. However, pace bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not been included in the squad due to injury concerns. The first test match will starts in Birmingham on August 1.
