Priya Anand is an Indian actress and model, who mostly works in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films. She began her career in modeling in 2008 before doing her acting debut in the Tamil film Vaamanan (2009). She then made her Bollywood debut in 2012, with a supporting role in English Vinglish, and then she appeared in the film Fukrey (2013) as Priya. Her performance in the ZEE5‘s Telugu web series Maa Neella Tank received a great response from the audience. Priya played the role of Shakthi in the Kasethan Kadavulada movie starring Mirchi Shiva in the lead role. Priya Anand did a promising role in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalapathy 67 movie.

Priya was initially supposed to make her acting debut in the Tamil film Pugaippadam, which she signed up for first, but its release was delayed until 2010.
She is the only daughter of Radha and her father Bharadwaj Anand. Her father is half-Telugu, half-Marathi so Priya Anand was brought up in both her parents’ hometowns, Chennai and Hyderabad, Telangana, becoming fluent in Tamil and Telugu.
Besides native languages, Priya is proficient in English, Marathi, Bengali, Hindi, and Spanish as well.
She was fascinated with films, developing an interest in cinema, Since childhood, and noted that she had the dream of getting into the film industry and working on the technical aspects of filmmaking, but confesses she never thought of becoming an actor.
Priya Anand is an avid pet lover.
She moved to the US, where she continued her higher studies. After finishing her education, she returned to India in 2008 and since, stays with her grandparents in Chennai.
She then entered into modeling, appearing in various television advertisements like Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince Jewellery, and Cadbury Dairy Milk.
She likes to play with her pet dog a lot.
