Premalatha Vijayakanth is the wife of Indian film actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) president, Vijayakanth. She has emerged as a pillar of support to actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth throught his political career, who is popularly known as Captain. On 14 December 2023, she was appointed as the General Secretary of the DMDK by the party president.
