Perazhagi is a 2018 Tamil melodrama airing in the Colours Tamil TV. The lead roles of the Perazhagi Tamil Serial are Gayathri as Pothum Ponnu and Porkodi as Parvathy. The Perazhagi is aired every Monday to Friday at 21:30 (IST). The serial Perazhagi is the first soap opera that breaks the stereotype around skin color. The serial portrays Pothum Ponnu, a young girl who is always jovial and smiling. However, people from her society dislike her due to her dark skin color and how short she is. This brings her self-esteem down and causes her to be upset due to others comments. However, she overcomes her insecurities to become a celebrity.
