Pala. Karuppiah (Pazha. Karuppiah) is an Indian politician, film producer, writer, and actor who works in Tamil film industry. He was an incumbent Member of the 14th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Harbour constituency in Chennai District. He has produced some popular films like Indru Nee Nalai Naan, Andha Oru Nimidam, and Poruthathu Pothum. He is also an actor who appeared in films like Angadi Theru (2010). Pala. Karuppiah was born on 2 April 1943 in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India. His nephew Karu Palaniappan is a famous director in the Tamil film industry. On 28 January 2016 Pala. Karuppiah was expelled from AIADMK by the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for “going against” the party’s principles. He is also the writer of ‘Pattinathar Oru Parvai’, ‘Arasiyal Sadhirattangal’, ‘Kannadhasan’, Kaalathin Velipaadu’, ‘Ellaigal Neetha Rama Kaadhai and ‘Karunanidhi Enna Kadavulaa’.
