Nivas K. Prasanna is an Indian film composer and singer. He began his debut as a music composer through Thegidi. It won the positive reviews for its music, and the film’s success at the box office made Nivas K. Prasanna receive attention for his work. He also worked alongside singers including Shankar Mahadevan, Abhay Jodhpurkar, Andrea Jeremiah, for the album. It also won him the Behindwoods Gold Award for Find of the Year, and the composer performed at the awards ceremony. Nivas’s second album, Sethupathi (2016), has received mixed reviews. Nivas K. Prasanna was born on 9 March 1989, in the town of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Nivas started learning Carnatic music aged ten and has completed all seven grades of the piano when studying at the Magdalene Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the town. He then went to Chennai with his family and also enrolled on the Visual Communications course at the SRM University and he actively looked for the opportunities in the film music Industry. Rajesh Vaidhya has chosen Nivas to accompany him on tours as the Keyboard Player and the opportunity gave him a chance to the network with other young professionals and also work on the music for short films.

Nivas also worked with the singer Saindhavi on performing the musical album titled Kannamma regarding the teachings of Bharathiyar, which impressed the producer Santhosh from Think Music. Santhosh then recommended him to do the background score for the movie Pizza II: Villa (2013), but Nivas wasn’t selected. Santhosh later offered Nivas to work on the murder Mystery film, Thegidi (2014), which was directed by Ramesh.
