Nithya Menen was born to a Malayali Family in Bangalore on April 8, 1988. At Manipal University, Karnataka, she studied Journalism. In an interview she said, she never wished to become an actress. Since Journalism was “not what it used to be,” she decided to become a filmmaker, as she can express her ideas through movies. Then she enrolled for a course in cinematography at the FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Pune. At the time of education entrance exam, she met B.V. Nandini Reddy, who convinced her to take up acting. Later, Nandini Reddy turned as director and signed Nithya as a female lead in her first movie.
Nithya Menon Early Life and Career
As a child artist, Nithya Menen first appeared in an Indian English Language Movie, “The Monkey Who Knew Too Much.” In that movie, she portrayed the sister role to Tabu’s Character. In 2006, She started her career in acting with the Kannada Film “7’0 Clock.” In 2008, she made her Malayalam Debut with the movie “Aakasha Gopuram.” Her first movie in the Telugu Language was Nandini Reddy’s “Ala Modalaindi.” For that movie, she won the Nandi Award for Best Actress. Following that movie, she acted in Santosh Sivan’s historical fiction movie “Urumi.” Then she appeared in Jayendra’s bilingual film named “180/Nootrenbadhu.” Then she went to appear in more Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films to establish herself as one of the leading actresses in South Indian Cinema.
