He is one of the three sons of national award-winning Bollywood actor turned politician Mithun Chakraborty who debuted in the film Mrigaya (1976) and his mother Yogeeta Bali is a former actress. Namashi’s brothers, Ushmey Chakraborty is a writer & director and Mahaakshay Chakraborty is a Bollywood actor. Namashi Chakraborty featured as an actor in the Bollywood movie Article 15 (2019) directed by Anbhav Sinha. Actress Dishani Chakraborty is a foster sister of Namashi.
