Marudhu Ganesh is a Journalist by profession and a practising lawyer. He is from Madurai based family who born and brought up in Chennai. He completed his graduation from Sir Theagaraya College in New Washermenpet, Chennai. Later, he studied the law at Venkateswara Law college in Tripati. In 1996, His mother, Parvathi Narayanasamy, was a councillor when DMK working president M.K. Stalin was the Mayor of the Chennai Corporation.

He hails from a middle-class background while his mother was a former councillor which gives an introduction to the area. He is known to the DMK cadre in the area since he is the area secretary of R.K Nagar (East) unit. So, he had nominated for RK Nagar by-election on behalf of the DMK.
